Duties
- Review and verify title searches, title records, and public records to confirm property ownership and legal status
- Prepare and review legal descriptions, easements, and other real estate documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Manage title processing tasks using real estate transaction management software and mapping software to ensure all documentation aligns with underwriting guidelines
- Conduct thorough title reviews to identify potential issues related to rights-of-way, liens, or encumbrances that could impact closings
- Coordinate with clients, attorneys, lenders, and other stakeholders to facilitate timely communication and resolve any discrepancies or questions
- Ensure compliance with real estate law and underwriting guidelines throughout the closing process
- Oversee the final review of all documents related to the closing, including escrow instructions, settlement statements, and legal descriptions
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for document preparation and communication
- Strong knowledge of real estate law, including easements, rights-of-way, legal descriptions, and title review procedures
- Experience with real estate transaction management software, GIS (Geographic Information Systems), mapping software, and title search tools
- Ability to research public records and analyze title records effectively
- Familiarity with real estate closing management processes and legal documentation review
- Excellent client communication skills combined with a customer service-oriented approach
- Prior law office experience or background in real estate law is highly desirable
