What are the responsibilities and job description for the School-Based Behavioral Health Educator position at Tri-Area Community Health?
Primary responsibilities include:
- Teaching age-appropriate behavioral health lessons to students
- Providing educational programs for families and school employees
- Helping students and families connect with behavioral health services
- Collaborating with school staff, community organizations, and Tri-Area employees
- Participating in school and community events
- Developing educational materials and assisting with data collection
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in human services, psychology, social work, counseling, education, or a related field required; bachelor’s degree preferred
- At least two years of experience working directly with children or adolescents
- Knowledge of children’s and adolescents’ behavioral health needs
- Teaching, school-based, youth programming, or community outreach experience strongly preferred
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and computer skills
- Reliable transportation and satisfactory background check required
This is a 40-hour-per-week position with regular travel throughout the service area. Some evening and weekend work may be required. Mileage is reimbursed.
