Full-time Live-in House Manager / Family Helper

Busy two-career Weston family in Weston, MA seeking a live-in house manager and family helper to help our household run smoothly. We have two kids – a 12-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy – and we are looking for someone focused on keeping our home organized and our kids engaged and nurtured when they are home.

We are only interested in considering someone who wants to be a live-in, although you will only be working during the week. Your weekends are your own!

You also need to be comfortable with and genuinely like dogs – we have an adorably sweet 7-year-old terrier/beagle rescue (~30 pounds) and a very lovable 7-year-old chihuahua/dachshund rescue (~16 pounds) that you will help walk and feed daily.

Over the past 12 years we have had five previous live-in nannies/house managers, and we hope to find an exceptional house manager / family helper who wants to grow with a family long-term. We are looking for a 2-year minimum commitment.

What You'll Be Doing

Household Management

Key activities include:

· Keeping the home running efficiently and organized

· Healthy meal preparation — breakfast and dinner on school days; breakfast, lunch, and dinner when the kids are home; healthy snack preps as well

· Daily laundry, errands, and grocery shopping

· Keeping the key living areas clean (e.g., emptying dishwasher, taking out the trash, vacuuming the kitchen and mudroom area, tidying the kids’ bedrooms, etc.)

· Anticipating what the family needs, preparing for guest arrivals and helping decorate and celebrate holidays

Family & Kid Support

· School/camp pickups and drop-offs, and transportation to/from after-school activities and sports

· Being a helpful, reliable, observant presence for the kids when they need assistance — our children are 12 and 10, so this is less about hands-on nurturing and more about being engaged, being available (i.e. not on your phone), a good role model and supportive as they navigate their busy days

· Occasional help with homework if needed

Dog Care

· Daily walks and feeding for our two dogs

· General care and attentiveness to their needs

Schedule & Hours

Core hours are 7am–7pm, Monday through Friday. Some evenings may run later due to seasonal sports schedules. While the kids are in school (8am–4:15pm), your focus will be on household management tasks; the remaining daytime hours are yours once tasks are completed. We do not micromanage and expect responsibilities to be completed with care and thoughtfulness.

· Payroll processed through a payroll company — this role is fully on the books and requires U.S. work authorization

· Assistance selecting healthcare coverage through the Massachusetts marketplace if needed

Since we live in the suburbs, you'll want your own car for off-hours and weekends. Comfort driving in all weather conditions, including snow, is a must.

Compensation

Salary: $60,000–$65,000, commensurate with experience. This is in addition to all food and living expenses which are covered, resulting in a significant ability to save money in this role.

Start date is flexible between now and mid-June.
