Position Overview
The Business Development Manager will play a key role in expanding market presence and driving new client acquisition across targeted commercial sectors.
This individual will be responsible for developing strategic relationships, identifying new revenue opportunities, leading solution-based sales activity, and securing complex service agreements with corporate clients.
The successful candidate will have experience selling outsourced operational, technical, engineering, workplace, or facilities-related services into large commercial organizations and will be comfortable managing long sales cycles and sophisticated bid processes.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Growth & Market Development
- Generate and convert new business opportunities across designated target markets
- Develop strategic sales plans to support long-term revenue growth
- Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities through proactive networking and business development activity
- Identify new market segments and expansion opportunities
- Develop trusted relationships with decision-makers across corporate organizations
Consultative Sales & Client Engagement
- Conduct discovery meetings to understand operational challenges and client requirements
- Present tailored service solutions aligned with customer objectives
- Lead presentations, commercial discussions, and proposal reviews with senior stakeholders
- Maintain ongoing client engagement throughout the sales lifecycle and onboarding process
Proposal & Bid Leadership
- Coordinate the preparation of proposals, pricing models, and client presentations
- Collaborate with operational, finance, procurement, and technical teams to deliver commercially competitive solutions
- Manage RFP, RFQ, and tender submission processes from qualification through close
- Support contract renewals, scope expansions, and strategic account growth initiatives
Industry & Competitive Intelligence
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging market opportunities
- Attend networking events, conferences, and industry functions to increase market visibility
- Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasting data, and sales reporting metrics
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 5 years of experience in business development, strategic sales, or client solutions within facilities services, engineering services, workplace operations, or commercial outsourcing environments
- Proven ability to secure large-scale service contracts and develop long-term client partnerships
- Experience managing complex bid and proposal processes
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to understand financial and operational drivers
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Highly organized with strong pipeline management and forecasting capabilities
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
