This position, Assistant Groundskeeper, is seasonal, running from May to August/September. This position would report to the Head Groundskeeper and would work on the crew on game days and non-gameday events. This position is ideal for someone with one to two years of turf management experience or someone looking to enter the turf management industry

Job Duties
- Working knowledge of the maintenance of sports fields.
- Seeding, sodding and maintenance practices for sports field turf grass.
- Extra events (college and high school games, company outings, etc.)
- Maintain mounds and home plate area
- Assist in mowing, fertilizing, edging infield/outfield, aerating, sodding
- High level of understanding of the sports requirements for field layouts and markings
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Candidate must be a professional, self-starter who will work as a team player, and also be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

· The preferred candidate will have a two or four year degree in Agronomy or Sports Turf Management, or the equivalence in experience and education.
· Should be able to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
· Ability to talk to others and convey information effectively.
· Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods of time.
· Ability to lift minimum of 50 pounds.
· Able to work irregular hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.
