Job Summary
TrendHR is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accountant to join our client’s team in the Rockwall area. This role supports month-end close activities, ensures compliance with federal, state, and local agencies, and maintains accurate financial records. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in accounting principles, payroll tax knowledge, and thrives in a fast-paced environment with a high sense of urgency.
Key Responsibilities
- Track, calculate, and reconcile employee commissions
- Reconcile payroll data and QuickBooks entries
- Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
- Assist with month-end close and financial reporting
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
2026 Initiatives / Preferred Experience
The company is evaluating several accounting and payment process enhancements for 2026. Experience in any of the following areas is a strong plus:
- Expense tracking platforms such as Expensify or similar tools for managing credit card receipts
- Online customer payment integrations through company websites
- Credit card processing systems that automate credit card processing fees
- Integrations between Authorize.net (or similar payment processors) and QuickBooks for streamlined credit card and e-check processing
- Process improvement or implementation experience related to accounting systems and workflows
Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks
- Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred)
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
