Job Summary
The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) plays a vital role in providing direct support to individuals with autism and other developmental disorders. The RBT implements behavior intervention and skill development plans based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This position requires a compassionate individual who is dedicated to improving the lives of children and their families through effective behavioral therapy techniques.
Duties
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans as designed by the supervising BCBA.
- Conduct one-on-one sessions with children, focusing on skill acquisition and behavior reduction strategies.
- Collect and maintain accurate data on client progress, behaviors, and treatment outcomes.
- Assist in the development of treatment plans that address each child's unique needs.
- Collaborate with families and caregivers to provide support and education on behavior management techniques.
- Maintain organized medical records and documentation related to client care and progress.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss client progress, challenges, and strategies for improvement.
- Uphold ethical standards in all interactions with clients, families, and team members.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children, particularly those with autism or developmental disabilities.
- Experience working with challenging behaviors.
- Familiarity with the principles of behavior and applied behavior analysis methodologies.
- Ability to maintain accurate medical documentation and records related to client care.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with families and team members.
- A compassionate approach to working with individuals with diverse needs.
- Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician is preferred or willingness to obtain certification upon hiring.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's degree in a related field is preferred
