Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Operational Oversight: Overseeing day to day operations to ensure production and processes run efficiently
- Team Leadership: Managing and leading the operations team to ensure they are motivated, productive and aligned with company goals
- Strategic Planning: Collaborating with the General Manager and other senior leaders to develop and implement operational strategies
- Resource Allocation: Efficiently allocating resources to maximize productivity while controlling costs
- Quality Assurance: Implementing and monitoring quality control processes to meet established quality standards
- Process Improvement: Identifying areas for process optimization, cost reduction and efficiency improvement and then leading initiatives to achieve these objectives
- Budget Management: Developing and managing budgets for operations ensuring financial targets are met and costs are controlled
- Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating operational risks, whether related to safety, compliance, or other factors that could affect business continuity
- Supplier and Vendor Management: Establishing and maintaining relationships with suppliers and vendors
- Performance Metrics: Defining and monitoring key performance indicators (KPI's) to assess the success and efficiency of operations and to identify improvements
- Customer Satisfaction: Focusing on exceeding customer expectations by delivering products or services on time at the expected quality within budget
- Communication: Providing regular updates to the General Manager on the status of operations and challenges
- Emergency Response: Developing and implementing emergency response plans to minimize disruptions
Education and Experience:
Required:
- 4 year degree in Engineering, Operations Management or related field
- 7 years Operations experience
- 5 years of supervisory experience
- Experience in Lean Sigma methodologies
- Experience managing in a unionized manufacturing facility
Desired:
- MBA or master's degree in related field
- 10 years of Operations Management experience
- Experience with clean room/medical device manufacturing
