Equipment Maintenance Tech

Summary Of Role

Primary responsibilities will be to perform maintenance and/or repairs of company equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience supporting a manufacturing or similar environment.

This position will report to the EHS & Facilities Manager of the Northborough Trelleborg site. This role will be primarily linked with 1st shift hours. Although rare, the individual should expect some emergency or planned weekend support throughout the year.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and repairs hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
• Performs minor equipment rebuilds including electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Performs preventative maintenance activities on plant equipment.
• Completes emergency repairs as necessary to minimize costly downtime and to maintain production schedules.
• Maintains company equipment.
• Uses Lean Enterprise methods to reduce waste and complexity in all processes.
• Requires occasional use of company forklift.
• Retrieves supplies from merchant vendors as needed.
• Responsible for the timely calibration of equipment
• Responsible for oven programming, chart recordings, and chart maintenance
• Provides day-to-day guidance and direction to peers
• Maintains a positive working relationship with all department employees and supervisors.
• Assists in the disassembly and diagnoses of mechanical and electrical failures.
• Strictly adheres to all safety protocol.
• Assists in installation of new equipment as required.
• Initiates part requisitions.
• Assists outside contracted maintenance as needed (janitorial, building and grounds maintenance).
• Engages in problem solving and provides proactive solutions in their day-to-day operations.
  
  

Required

Education and Experience

• 2-year technical degree in a related field OR equivalent experience
• 7-10 years of experience in equipment maintenance
  
  

Desired

• Experience with clean room manufacturing
• Strong electrical experience or license preferred
• Experience with heating/cooling systems

• Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of electricity, circuitry, and mechanics
