Overview:
This General Maintenance Technician role is an entry level position within the Plant Maintenance Team. The General Maintenance Technician will work under general supervision, support troubleshooting, repairing, modifying and maintaining all mechanical, electrical, instrument, and control components in both plant equipment and facilities systems and components. Will directly support routine and frequent roll replacement and setup duties on Coating and Laminating equipment. Responsibilities also include maintaining Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer, Catalytic Oxidizer, Solvent Recovery System, and Tank Farm equipment.
This is a part-time position. A flexible schedule with weekend availability is required.
Duties:
- Troubleshoot and maintain industrial plant utility systems including Steam and Condensate, Chilled Water, Cooling Water, Hot Oil, HVAC, Compressed Air, Power and other systems.
- Focus areas of work to include roll replacement and set-up, PMs including lube oil and hydraulic fluid drain and refills, and 5S tasks. Other mechanical related work as assigned.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to equipment modifications as well as equipment failures.
- Assist with daily routine maintenance.
- Conducts visual system inspections and monitors system operations/processes to ensure proper operations and to detect equipment failures, potential leaks, or other problem situations; reports maintenance needs to appropriate personnel; performs preventive maintenance checks and procedures on system equipment.
- Exchanges information with staff of adjoining work shifts to keep abreast of current operating conditions or problem situations.
- Maintains a current knowledge and awareness of applicable laws/regulations; maintains an awareness of new trends and advances in the profession; attends workshops and training sessions as appropriate.
- Overtime required to support planned roll replacement work.
Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in Mechanical Technology, or related field, preferred.
- Minimum of two - three years in Industrial Maintenance/Engineering Environment preferred.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of manufacturing and equipment requirements.
- Mechanical troubleshooting skills and able to use all necessary test equipment.
- Must have ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Microsoft office proficiency.
- Must be able to work in a team-based work environment.

- Drafting skills (AutoCAD) to create necessary drawings.
Physical Demands:
This role involves hands-on work in a production environment with regular use of machinery and electrical systems. Candidates must be able to:
- Lift up to 75 lbs. frequently.
- Stand, walk, kneel, squat, and bend during manufacturing processes.
- Climb stairs and ladders as needed.
- Work in awkward positions including overhead and below-knee tasks.
- Push/pull toolboxes throughout the facility.
