Essential Job Function: Engineering activities including design, CAD, planning, scheduling, and process troubleshooting.
Position Summary: The position of Engineering Intern involves supporting Project Engineers with design, CAD, planning, coordination and controlling the functions of programs. This role ensures that goods and services are produced efficiently, of high quality, appropriate cost, on schedule, and to the satisfaction of the customer. The Engineering Assistant may also be involved with the following tasks:
- Assist in purchasing including generating and completing purchase orders, sending drawings to vendors, interaction with vendors to resolve any issues related to the purchase, manufacture, or delivery of the items, pick-up or drop-off of items, incoming inspection of items, and problem resolution.
- Direct and coordinate processes for production including the creation work orders and part programs.
- Operate research and production equipment when needed.
- Assist with CAD design & detailing of components.
- Work with Sales, customers, ADC personnel, and vendors to develop vendor or customer quotations.
- Develop schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.
- Review operations and confer with technical or admin staff to resolve production or processing problems.
- Initiate and coordinate inventory and cost control programs.
- Prepare and maintain production reports.
- Review plans and confer with research and support staff to develop new products and processes.
General:
Work Environment: Office Environment and Production floor
Expected Hours: The position requires 40 hours per week. The employee is expected to work overtime as required to complete his/her job responsibilities.
Education: Usually requires applicant is in pursuit of a 4-year engineering degree
Special Skills or Characteristics: Able to work with little supervision, make decisions in a timely manner, and make efficient use of his/her time.
Computer Skill Required: Microsoft Windows and Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, etc.), CAD

- Make business related purchases of orders up to $250 before requiring further approvals as according to the Purchasing Procedure.
- Make design and engineering changes for products and processes.
