Plant, transplant, weed, cultivate, irrigate, harvest and/or grade and pack beets, blueberries, carrots, cauliflower, celery, cilantro, daikon, dandelions, dill, eggplant, fennel, green beans, green onions, leeks, onions, parsleys, parsnips, peas, peppers, radishes, rutabagas, squash, corn, potatoes, sweet potatoes, broccoli, tomatoes, watermelons, arugula, bok choy, baby bok choy, cabbages, chards, collards, kales, lettuces, mustard greens, spinach, turnips, jalapenos, honey bees, pumpkins, and leafy greens by hand or farm equipment. Plant, prune, water and propagate plants. Grade, sort or classify products according to factors such as color, species, length, width, appearance, feel, smell and quality to ensure correct processing and usage. Discard inferior or defective products and/or foreign matter while leaving acceptable products on conveyer for further processing. Carrots continue to be carried through the process on a conveyer where farm equipment will weigh, count and package product. Tie, label and stack on pallets according to supervisor's instructions or pack in boxes. Once box is full, slide down rollers, close, seal and stack the box onto a pallet and place a new box on the conveyer to be packed. Record packing information. Examine and inspect containers, materials and products to ensure that packing specifications are met. Remove completed or defective products from pallets and place in assigned area. Monitor and load materials into package processing equipment. Dump untied bags of carrots back into the farming equipment to go through the process again. Transplant plants including blueberries, cabbage and leafy greens. Take plant out of tray that is on a trailer moving down a row and place plant into a pre-dug hole and cover hole with dirt. Harvest cabbage according to supervisor's instructions by using a knife to cut crop and place on conveyor to be graded and packed. Grade and pack green beans, cabbage and leafy greens according to supervisor's instructions on assembly line in packing house or on a mule train. Grade beans, cabbage and leafy greens according to factors such as color, species, length, width, appearance, feel, smell and quality to ensure correct processing and usage. Discard inferior or defective beans, cabbage, greens and/or foreign matter, and place acceptable products on conveyor to be packed into a box. Once box is full, slide down rollers and place a new box on the conveyer to be packed. Close the box and slide it down the rollers to be weighed. Stack weighed boxes onto pallets. Manually feed the potato slips into fingers on the transplanter that place the plant into the ground and cover the root of the plant with dirt. Workers will be asked to alternate walking behind the transplanter and planting slips by hand using a stick. Ride a potato digger or harvester and pick up potatoes off of a chain, sort them, and place them into boxes on the digger while harvesting. Harvesting may also be done by hand in 40 lb. buckets. Clean, pack and load harvested products; place produce into coolers. Pack potatoes into boxes for shipping. Measure, weigh, and count products and materials to ensure that packing specifications are met. Remove completed or defective products and place them on conveyors or in specified areas. Seal containers using glue, string, nails and hand tools. Load materials and products into package processing equipment. Use hand tools to assemble, line, and pad cartons, crates and containers. Unload onions off of truck and load onto tractor to be transplanted. Ride on tractor and take bundles of onions out of boxes and toss into field while tractor is moving down the rows. Unbundle onions that have been tossed into the field and place into pre-dug hole and cover hole with dirt. Harvest onions by picking up onions, clipping top and roots using shears, placing in bucket, walking to bin and dumping bucket into bin. Count and check produce.
