Responsibilities

• Review and interpret complex construction drawings, electrical schematics, and technical specifications to develop detailed estimates.
• Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to prepare comprehensive cost proposals for electrical systems and installations.
• Conduct thorough construction site reviews and analyze project requirements to determine material quantities, labor costs, and equipment needs.
• Apply NEC (National Electrical Code) and NFPA 70 standards to ensure all estimates comply with electrical building codes and safety regulations.
• Manage material cost estimating, pricing strategies, and negotiate with vendors and subcontractors to secure optimal terms.
• Develop accurate project budgets by assessing scope of work, identifying potential risks, and implementing cost control measures.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, clients, and design teams to align estimates with project goals while maintaining profitability.
• Lead contract review processes, ensuring all terms support project delivery and risk mitigation.
• Monitor ongoing projects for budget adherence, providing updates and adjustments as needed to maintain financial targets.
• Maintain proficiency in estimating tools such as Microsoft Office Suite for documentation, reporting, and communication purposes.

Experience

• Proven experience in construction estimating with a focus on electrical systems within commercial projects.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical blueprint reading, schematic interpretation, and construction drawing review.
• Strong background in electrical code compliance (NEC) standards and NFPA 70 regulations.
• Demonstrated ability in cost management, material estimating, and pricing strategies for large-scale projects.
• Familiarity with estimating software including HeavyBid, Bluebeam, and other industry-standard tools.
• Solid understanding of construction site operations, project management principles, and construction industry best practices.
• Excellent negotiation skills paired with effective client communication abilities to foster long-term relationships.
• Construction management experience is a plus, along with a comprehensive understanding of contracts and project delivery methods.
