About the Position
The Jones Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles or machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation. This role requires strong technical knowledge, ability to problem solve, and the ability to work with a variety of tools and diagnostic equipment.
Ideal candidates will possess a mechanical background which includes solid knowledge of small engines, fuel and hydraulic systems, and not afraid to dig into problems and diagnose issues. Knowledge of cutting reels and previous golf course experience is a plus but not mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks, and filter replacements
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and engine issues using diagnostic tools and test equipment
- Repair or replace faulty components, including brakes, suspension systems, engines, and transmissions
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure all repairs meet industry and manufacturer standards
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and maintenance schedules
- Communicate clearly with customers or supervisors about repair needs, timelines, and costs
- Keep the workspace clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations
- Stay updated on new automotive technologies, tools, and repair techniques
- Grinding bed knives and reels along with adjusting and setting height on all mowing units
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical issues for any equipment in the fleet. This includes diesel, hydraulic, electrical, small and medium sized engine repairs.
- Effectively place orders for all parts and supplies needed for all equipment repairs and maintenance in an efficient and economic manner.

- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Ability to read technical manuals, diagrams, and repair instructions
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy parts or equipment
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a vocational or technical training program (preferred)
- ASE certification or equivalent (a plus)
- Previous experience in automotive or equipment repair
Salary : $22 - $25
