OVERVIEW
The role of the Collective Care Specialists, in collaboration with the Concentric leaders, is to further Treetops Collective’s mission by facilitating circles of support, providing holistic engagement, resource and opportunity connections, and deepening relationships that lead to more empowered New American communities and accessible services. Ultimately these roles will increase a sense of connectedness for New Americans to one another and to resources within the community.
Fluent in English, and one of the following languages required: Kinyarwanda, Swahili, Nepali, Arabic, Somali, Amharic, Pashto or Dari.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete Collective Care Specialist training and Circle of Support Facilitator training
- Support / work closely alongside Concentric Leaders, engaging in deep and meaningful Community Care following up on service and opportunity gaps
- Identity and recruit families to participate in the Circles of Support
- On-board new families, complete an assets and needs assessment, and verification of ORR-eligibility
- Schedule and facilitate a six week Circle of Support for families in represented language group. Conduct Pre and Post Program Surveys with each Circle.
- Ensure transportation and childcare needs are identified and planned for based on the scheduled Circle of Support and the needs of the participants
- Share resources and conduct follow-ups with community members. Maintain accurate records of care provided and services/resources connected to
- Attend monthly meetings with the Collective Care team, to stay up to date with community needs and challenges. Stay informed and up to date on community resources and opportunities within the wider community, and share regularly to Treetops Concentric cohorts.
- Support Concentric leaders with resource referrals and more in-depth support
- Conduct Circle of Support Facilitator Trainings for New American leaders
- Coordinate with businesses and faith communities that have high target populations to bring support services to New Americans directly in partnership with their employer or faith leader at their locations.
DESIRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
- Fluent in English and one of the following languages required: Kinyarwanda, Swahili, Nepali, Burmese, Spanish, Arabic or Dari
- Comfortable speaking with new people, warm demeanor and ability to connect personally
- Highly responsible and able to work autonomously while being accountable for results
- Proven leadership capacity and experience leveraging relationships for impact
- Must maintain transportation, phone, and laptop computer to perform duties
- Excellent and timely communication skills
- Familiarity with OR Willingness to fully learn and utilize all tools--Slack, Gmail, Google Drive, etc.
- Belief in your capacity to influence community change
