Seeking an Oncology Assistant
Treeline Veterinary Cancer Care is hiring a part-time assistant for our boutique Oncology clinic. We are seeking an assistant for THURSDAYS at our new Eagle Vail Practice. We are open to adding additional shifts as needed, ( at our Boulder location currently, and ultimately in the mountains as we add availability) depending on the applicant's interest. Treeline Vet is boutique Medical Oncology clinic that specializes in Pet Cancer Consultations, staging and diagnostics, chemotherapy administration, and immunotherapy treatments. We focus on providing the best and most advanced medical care to our patients, while ensuring that our clients are comfortable as well. Treeline Vet uses a concierge model of care which acknowledges that every client and every patient is unique. We strive to provide clients and patients with all the comfort and care that they require in order to have a positive experience in what can be a stressful time.
WHO WE NEED
What you can expect to do
- Greeting clients and visitors, answering the phone, welcoming clients and general intake
- Assisting the Oncologist and veterinary nurses with exams, diagnostics, and chemotherapy procedures.
- Running in-house laboratory samples
- Obtaining radiographs using Digital Radiology software
- Handling and processing of veterinary medical samples.
- Presenting and explaining exam fees. (We will walk you through the specifics, obviously)
- Processing payments.
- Entering data into the medical record software
- Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, including disinfecting and cleaning all areas of our space, inventory, and stocking
- Providing compassionate and caring communication to our clients
What we will need from you
- Optimism and ability to provide empathy and comfort to clients
- Animal Handling and Restraint experience - At least 3 months.
- Maintain a positive attitude in the face of challenging diagnoses (We only treat patients with cancer.)
- Strong desire to help others
- Previous experience in a veterinary setting, including dog and cat handling and restraint
- Ability to learn our Veterinary Software (we use EzyVet)
- Technical skills (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Google Suite)
- Ability to accept challenges as they arise - we are independently owned and a start-up. Our mountain clinic is still in its infancy!
