What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Manager-Selah Plant position at Tree Top?
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing and directing all plant/process manufacturing operations. Position facilitates and assists with all staff/management mentoring and development; facilitates and coordinates development and implementation of plant manufacturing strategies; oversees the development of plant policies and procedures; coordinates plant systems, processes, and resources to optimize organizational goals; and maximizes plant efficiencies and related plant financials.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
This position reports to the Director of Operations and manages assigned plant staff and performance. The position works closely with plant staff, engineering, finance and accounting, product development, sales and marketing, supply chain/planning/transportation, procurement, and community relations organizations.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENTRY:
KNOWLEDGE OF:
- Principles and practices of food manufacturing, including: food safety, quality, manufacturing concepts
- Basic understanding of raw product and raw product application.
- Principles and practices of financial and manufacturing accounting.
- Principles and practices of financial forecasting and budgeting.
- Principles and practices of inventory planning.
- Principles and practices of complex program and project development and administration.
- Principles and practices of Lean Manufacturing/continuous improvement concepts and related application technique.
- Principles and practices of strategic planning and execution.
- Pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes, and regulations.
ABILITY TO:
- Effectively manage and lead multiple projects with multidisciplinary teams toward a shared goal.
- Think strategically to drive plant performance results.
- Gain cooperation through discussion and persuasion.
- Identify, research, and analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, and project consequences of proposed actions.
- Effectively organize, plan, and execute.
- Use computers and computer software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Meet behaviors established in Tree Top's performance management and development process.
- Drive costs out of plant manufacturing.
EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION/LICENSES, AND TRAINING:
- A Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field, or experience with a track record of success in Plant Operations.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of plant processing/manufacturing and/or food manufacturing experience.
- Extensive experience managing multiple departments/plants/processes.
- HACCP training and certification is preferred.
- GFSI background or equivalent is preferred.

Salary : $130,000 - $170,000
