Position Overview:
Tree Top Staffing is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist for a direct hire opportunity with a well-established precision manufacturing organization located in Clifton, New Jersey.
This role will support the accounting team with daily billing, cash receipts, customer credits, account adjustments, customer statements, credit applications, commission reporting, and accurate AR documentation. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with ERP systems and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process customer payments, including wire transfers and checks
- Review customer portals for payment details and apply cash receipts accurately
- Verify payment details against invoices before posting transactions
- Post verified payments in the ERP system
- Process customer credits related to returns/RMAs and submit credit memos as needed
- Review and resolve credit, billing, or customer account exceptions
- Perform daily billing by reviewing packing slips, shipment reports, purchase orders, and customer orders
- Verify pricing, quantities, part numbers, and miscellaneous charges before invoices are sent
- Create manual invoices when required
- Run customer statements as needed using Excel
- Collect customer credit application information and submit completed applications for approval
- Process customer account adjustments as needed
- Run daily shipment reports and assist with monthly commission calculations
- Maintain organized documentation for cash receipts, billing, adjustments, credits, and manual invoices
- Communicate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate billing
Required Qualifications:
- Prior experience in accounts receivable, billing, cash applications, or related accounting functions
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when reviewing invoices, payments, and customer account activity
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Experience working with ERP systems
- Ability to investigate and resolve billing, credit, and payment discrepancies
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative accounting team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in manufacturing, distribution, industrial products, or a similar environment
- Epicor experience
- Experience with customer portals, RMA credits, customer statements, manual invoices, and account adjustments
- Experience supporting commission reporting or shipment-based billing
- Experience working with purchase orders, packing slips, shipment reports, and customer account documentation
