We are seeking a motivated and experienced Crew Lead/Tree Climber to join our dynamic outdoor maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a crew in performing tree care, landscaping, and grounds maintenance projects while ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency. Duties
- Lead and supervise a crew in executing tree care, pruning, removal, and planting operations with precision and safety.
- Climb trees using industry-standard techniques to perform pruning, cabling, or removal tasks efficiently.
- Oversee landscape maintenance activities including lawn care, gardening, hardscape installation, and irrigation management.
- Operate grounds maintenance equipment such as chainsaws, trimmers, lawn mowers, and company vehicles responsibly.
- Coordinate with team members to complete construction projects involving landscaping or hardscape installation.
- Identify various plant species and assess their health to determine appropriate care or removal strategies.
- Manage irrigation systems ensuring proper operation and troubleshooting issues as needed.
- Supervise crew members to maintain high standards of safety, quality, and productivity across all outdoor work activities.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, equipment usage, and project progress for client reporting and internal tracking.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in outdoor work environments including lawn care, landscape maintenance, or gardening.
- Strong background in tree care and climbing techniques with relevant certifications preferred.
- Demonstrated supervisory or team management experience leading crews on landscaping or construction projects.
- Knowledge of horticulture principles and plant identification skills.
- Ability to operate grounds maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
- Experience with irrigation systems installation and troubleshooting is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with hardscape installation including pavers or retaining walls is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with experience operating company vehicles required.
- Strong leadership skills combined with excellent communication abilities to motivate team members.
- Physical stamina for outdoor work in varying weather conditions along with the ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
