Customer Service Representative

Tree Ocean Services LLC is currently seeking a highly organized, proactive, and customer-focused Customer Service Representative to support the operations and commercial activities of SUM Shipping.

This position is ideal for candidates looking to grow within the maritime, logistics, and international shipping industry while working in a fast-paced operational environment connected to Caribbean trades and vessel operations.

• Handle daily customer communications via phone calls, email, and messaging platforms.
• Assist customers with bookings, shipment status, cargo tracking, and general inquiries.
• Coordinate closely with vessel operations, terminals, trucking companies, and overseas agents.
• Follow up on shipping documentation, manifests, invoices, and operational requirements.
• Provide timely updates to customers regarding schedules, cargo availability, delays, or operational changes.
• Maintain organized records of customer interactions and shipment files.
• Support internal operational and commercial teams with coordination and administrative tasks.
• Ensure professional and efficient communication with customers and partners at all times.
• Escalate operational issues or customer concerns promptly to management.
• Contribute to maintaining a strong customer service culture within the organization.

• Previous experience in customer service, logistics, freight forwarding, NVOCC, shipping line, or maritime industry preferred.
• Fluent in English and Spanish (spoken and written).
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and perform under pressure.
• Professional phone and email communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word).
• Strong attention to detail and follow-up capabilities.
• Team-oriented mindset with a proactive attitude.

• Experience in container shipping, vessel operations, or port logistics.
• Knowledge of Caribbean and Latin American trades is considered a plus.
• Familiarity with shipping documentation and logistics systems.
