Responsibilities
- Operate bucket trucks safely to access high branches and perform pruning or removal tasks efficiently.
- Use climbing techniques and rigging equipment to safely dismantle or trim trees around utility lines or structures.
- Execute tree removal projects with attention to safety, environmental impact, and customer satisfaction.
- Apply arborist rigging techniques to control the fall of large branches or entire trees during removal or pruning.
- Conduct plant pruning care, including shaping trees and maintaining landscape aesthetics while promoting healthy growth.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment such as chainsaws, bucket trucks, and rigging gear to ensure optimal performance.
- Follow strict safety protocols at all times, including proper PPE (personal protective equipment) usage and hazard assessments.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating bucket trucks and performing tree climbing work in an outdoor environment.
- Strong knowledge of arborist rigging techniques, tree removal procedures, and tree care practices.
- Familiarity with GIS (Geographic Information Systems) for mapping or planning purposes is a plus.
- Ability to use chainsaws safely and effectively for cutting and trimming tasks.
- Knowledge of horticulture, dendrology (study of trees), and landscape maintenance principles.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety protocol adherence during all work activities.
- Growing experience in landscaping, lawn care, or related outdoor disciplines is desirable.
- Excellent physical fitness with the ability to perform physically demanding tasks in varying weather conditions.
