Summary and Objective:
The primary focus of this position is ensuring accuracy, compliance, control measures, and reporting and analysis of a range of Company financial activities. The controller manages the daily tasks of the accounting team, including accounts payable and accounts receivable. This position requires expertise in financial analysis, auditing, and reporting to ensure the quality and accuracy of financial data. The controller will provide financial reporting to senior managers and external parties and assist in the development of financial policies and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for month end company and site reporting including variance analyses, and performance outlook to the leadership team and to key managers
2. Organize month end closing process and develop closing procedures to ensure timely and accurate reporting Analyze intercompany transactions and ensure compliance with GAAP
3. Examine the quality of financial information to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data
4. Collaborate with management to resolve any financial discrepancies
5. Develop, implement, and maintain internal financial policies, processes, and controls to maximize protection of company assets
6. Be the point person for external audits and taxation to the firm’s external advisors
7. Advise on financial decisions to support short- and long-term operational strategies
8. Assist in establishing financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, monitoring, and reporting
9. Maintain internal safeguards for organizational budgets verses actual expenditures
10. Oversee and support accounting team, accounting operations, including GL, AP/AR, financial reporting, and compliance
11. Thoroughly understand, optimize, and leverage ERP systems for automation and reporting
Minimum Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or related field
2. 5 years of progressive accounting experience
3. Strong understanding of best practices and financial data analysis
4. Working knowledge of national and local tax regulations
5. Strong communication abilities to effectively convey financial insights
6. Experience managing intercompany accounting and month-end close processes.
7. Deep knowledge of GAAP and financial compliance
8. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Desired or Preferred Qualifications:
1. Professional certification(s), such as CPA designation
2. 10 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field
3. Prior financial/accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
4. Strong background in financial modeling and analysis
5. Proficiency in audit procedures and identifying financial risks
6. Advanced relevant computer skills (ERP, Excel, QuickBooks, NetSuite, etc.)
7. Experience managing accounting teams and mentoring staff
8. Proven track record in implementing financial policies and procedures

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, smart phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, presentation equipment, etc. The work environment also includes a significant amount of time on the manufacturing and production floor.
Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are normally Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Some night and weekend work is required as needed. Working remotely is at the discretion of the immediate supervisor. The role requires phone accessibility 24/7 and emergency situations would dictate that the incumbent is available to always respond.
Travel:
This position requires from 10% to 20% travel.
