Field Service & Assembly Technician
Trebro Manufacturing — Billings, Montana
Trebro Manufacturing is looking for a highly skilled mechanical technician who can work both in the field and in our Billings manufacturing facility.
This is a hybrid role for someone who is equally comfortable building equipment in the shop, troubleshooting problems in the field, setting up new machines, and working directly with customers.
The right person needs to be technically strong, dependable, adaptable, and capable of representing Trebro well wherever the job takes them.
What You’ll Be Doing
When traveling, responsibilities may include:
- Setting up and commissioning Trebro equipment
- Performing service and repair work
- Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems
- Diagnosing issues in the field and developing practical solutions
- Working directly with customers and operators
- Supporting busy seasonal service needs
- Traveling throughout the U.S. and potentially internationally

- Hydraulic hoses, fittings, valves, pumps, and cylinders
- Rebuilding and refurbishing older machines

- Mechanical systems
- Electrical systems and wiring
- Hydraulics
- Troubleshooting and diagnostics

- Working independently and solving problems without constant supervision
Agricultural equipment, heavy equipment, industrial machinery, automotive, diesel, or similar experience would translate well.
The Person We’re Looking For
Technical skill matters a lot in this role, but cultural fit matters just as much.
We want someone who is:
- Reliable and accountable
- Highly self-motivated
- Calm under pressure
- Resourceful and able to figure things out
- Willing to take ownership of problems
- Detail-oriented and committed to quality
- Comfortable working independently
- Flexible when plans or schedules change
- Professional and respectful with customers
- A strong communicator
- Willing to help wherever the team needs them
- Someone who takes pride in representing Trebro well
When a machine has a problem in the field, we need someone who can diagnose it, communicate clearly with the customer, make a plan, and get the machine running again.
