Salary Range: $36,500 – $38,000 (based on experience and education)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

In this position, you will be part of TASC’s agency infrastructure, whose departments collectively assure the overall quality, fiscal responsibility, effectiveness, and impact of TASC’s work, and work to advance our mission to build a healthier, safer, and more just society.
Position Summary: As a Lab Technician, you will be responsible for collecting and preparing specimens for routine laboratory testing. This includes data entry, communication with staff and clients, managing lab inventory, and ensuring all protocols and safety standards are followed.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect urine specimens in accordance with HIPAA and lab protocols
- Prepare and package specimens for both onsite and reference laboratory testing
- Accurately enter client and test data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS)
- Communicate with caseworkers, clients, and support staff regarding results
- Maintain and organize lab supplies and inventory
- Prepare, pack, and ship supplies to agency locations as needed
- Follow all health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe lab environment
- Participate in required trainings
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One to two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination
- One year of laboratory experience preferred
- Knowledge of standard lab practices and safety protocols
- Strong communication skills (written and oral)
- Ability to work with a diverse population
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet-based applications
- Availability to attend meetings and support lab operations at various sites as needed
