Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Compliance Associate to oversee and ensure adherence to regulatory standards and internal policies within our organization. This role requires a strong understanding of financial regulations, accounting principles, and compliance management. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in compliance and audits with a proven track record in maintaining regulatory standards. The Lead Compliance Associate will play a critical role in safeguarding the company's integrity by implementing effective compliance strategies and leading audit processes.
Responsibilities
- Work in conjunction with the BSA Officer to monitor and ensure compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act.
- Partners with management for report and document preparation for NCUA examiners and external auditors.
- Coordinates with management and provides input in performing organizational risk assessments and the execution of risk mitigation activities.
- Collaborates with management in identifying, investigating, reporting and preventing fraud and suspicious activities.
- Lead the ongoing development, implementation, and enhancement of the credit union’s compliance management program by updating policies and procedures as needed.
- Serves as a resource to AVP Compliance & Security and other team members as necessary.
Experience
- College degree preferred. Industry certifications such as CUCE or CUCO
- One to five years of similar, or related, compliance, audit or risk experience.
- The ability to communicate effectively with others is a material part of the job, requiring a significant level of diplomacy and trust. Obtaining cooperation (internally and/or externally) is an important part of the job
- Microsoft Excel.
