This position is located at Departmental Offices,Treasury Common Services Center, Office of the Deputy Administrator for Human Resources Services. As a/an Staff Assistant, you will be utilizing independent judgment and analysis, strong organizational skills, particularly in the use of computerized tracking systems to record and monitor the status of various projects, and an understanding of executive learning concepts, research and writing.
Qualifications:
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.Specialized Experience for the GS-12, you must have one year (full 52 weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
- Performing operational and administrative functions, maintaining records and official documents, and coordinating executive schedules and calendars involving multiple priorities and stakeholders in support of executive learning operations; AND
- Coordinating office activities; relaying information and communications to leadership in a timely and effective manner; and independently prioritizing and routing matters to appropriate staff for resolution; AND
- Conducting research and analysis to support learning projects, initiatives, or programs; preparing reports, briefing materials, or correspondence; and communicating effectively with leadership, staff, and external stakeholders; AND
- Recommending and tracking metrics; and identifying and suggesting process improvements to enhance office efficiency and learning program effectiveness.
TIME-IN-GRADE: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-12, you must have been at the GS-11 level for 52 weeks.
TIME AFTER COMPETITIVE APPOINTMENT: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
Responsibilities:
As a Staff Assistant, you will:- Perform analytical and administrative duties and serve as the principal point of contact for the Director Treasury Executive Institute (TEI).
- Plan, develop, implement, manage, and evaluate the functions and daily activities of TEI's administrative programs which include: communications (telephone coverage, TEI mailbox, TEI calendar, office mail), prepare routine correspondence (Weekly reports, e-mail responses to inquiries), prepare individual reports for Quarterly meetings (individual participant reports for each organization, minutes), arrange classroom logistics (security building access, audiovisual set up), and maintain inventory of books/classroom materials, and supplies.
- Conduct research and analysis to support special projects and programs and maintaining the office metrics.
