Summer Teachers Needed - Micron Early Learning Center

Our Micron Early Learning Center is seeking Summer **Full or Part-Time

Teachers** to join the team. This role is responsible for creating an

environment with a teaching team that promotes each childs development

and supports children and their familys diverse needs and interests.

Treasure Valley Family YMCAs Child Development programs support children

in their ongoing growth to ensure that they are ready for the next

educational milestone, whether that be preschool, kindergarten, middle

school, or high school.

**Responsibilities:**

• Create an environment that fosters safety through active supervision
  
  

and by role modeling safe behavior.

• Nurture children through purposeful programs dedicated to building
  
  

relationships, achievement, and belonging.

• Develop intentional relationships and maintain effective daily
  
  

communication with participants and parents using the Y voice

attributes.

• Implement the established curriculum that achieves the five Cause
  
  

Measurement goals.

• Use positive behavior guidance techniques to support childrens
  
  

appropriate development and behavior.

• Monitor and ensure the health and safety of participants, families,
  
  

staff, and volunteers by following and implementing Child

Development Branch approved Leading Practices.

• Use Y Core Values, developmentally appropriate practices, and
  
  

effective teaching strategies to support each childs unique

background, needs and different learning styles.

**Qualifications:**

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Minimum 1 year working with children is preferred.
• Must be able to engage others in conversations and make all people
  
  

feel welcome.

• Ability to respond calmly and quickly to safety and emergency
  
  

situations.

• Must have good interpersonal and communications skills and be
  
  

sensitive, adaptable, professional, and articulate when dealing with

others.
