We teach self-reliance, instill a love for nature and the outdoors, and build character and leadership – all amidst the fun of campfires, canoeing, archery, friends, zip-lining, paddleboarding, mentorships, ropes courses, and so much more.

Accreditation
Our YMCA Camp Horsethief Reservoir is ACA-Accredited. The American Camping Association has ensured that our camp meets the accreditation standards for health, safety, and risk management.
This means that our camp provides public evidence of our commitment to the well-being of our campers and staff.
Camp Outdoor Facilitator Role
The Camp Outdoor Facilitator is responsible for assisting with the planning, leading, and implementing of Outdoor Education experiences for participants in a group setting.
This position also facilitates activities for conferences, groups, and retreats.
The Camp Outdoor Facilitator ensures that all programs are safe, friendly, and a nurturing experience for participants.
Schedule
This is a seasonal position that runs from April 1st through June 1st.
On-site housing is available for these staff members.
We have full-time seasonal positions and part-time positions for weekends only during the season.
Responsibilities
- Develop intentional relationships with participants, staff, and volunteers that result in having fun and making new friends.
- Create an environment that fosters safety through the education of participants using the Y voice attributes and by role modeling safe behavior.
- Implement the established curriculum that achieves the five Cause Measurements goals.
- Effectively communicate with participants and leadership using the Y voice attributes and providing feedback when necessary.
- Resolve concerns and issues. Follow appropriate incident response procedures.
- Organize, supervise, and facilitate participants in a variety of environmental programming, in a variety of weather conditions.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Experience working with youth.
- Ability to live on site during scheduled program times.
- Experience facilitating groups is preferred.
- Must be able to engage others in conversations and make all people feel welcome.
- Ability to respond calmly and quickly to safety and emergency situations.
