Position Summary
The Staff / Senior Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations while actively contributing to the development of scalable processes and controls. This role is ideal for someone who values accuracy, service, and collaboration—and who enjoys helping build the foundation for a growing, values-driven organization.
The level (Staff or Senior) will be determined based on experience.
Key Responsibilities
General Accounting
- Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including cash, inventory, prepaid expenses, and accruals
- Assist with fixed asset accounting and depreciation
- Support timely and accurate financial reporting
Process Improvement & Controls
- Help develop, document, and improve accounting processes and internal controls
- Identify risks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities and recommend practical solutions
- Support system enhancements that balance operational reality with strong financial discipline
Accounts Payable, Receivable & Cash
- Support AP and AR activities, including reconciliations and issue resolution
- Assist with cash management and bank reconciliations
- Ensure transactions are accurately coded, supported, and approved
Audit & Compliance Support
- Assist with audits, reviews, and tax-related requests
- Maintain organized documentation and supporting schedules
- Help ensure compliance with company policies and GAAP.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2–6 years of progressive accounting experience (level dependent)
- Solid understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with accounting systems
- High attention to detail with a service-oriented mindset
- Ability to adapt and stay effective in a growing, evolving environment
Preferred
- Experience in manufacturing, inventory, retail, or multi-entity environments
- Experience improving or building accounting processes and controls
