We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. You will work closely with clients in various settings, including home care, group homes, and memory care facilities. Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs and preferences.
- Provide medication administration as required, ensuring adherence to prescribed schedules.
- Support clients in social interactions and community engagement to promote inclusion.
- Facilitate communication between clients and family members or other caregivers.
- Assist with mobility and heavy lifting as needed to ensure client safety and comfort.
- Document client progress and report any changes in behavior or health status to the appropriate personnel.
- Participate in training sessions and team meetings to enhance skills and knowledge related to client care.
Qualifications
- Experience in home care, hospice care, memory care, or working with individuals with autism or other disabilities is preferred.
- Familiarity with developing and implementing care plans is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary.
- A background in social work or related fields is advantageous but not required.
- Must be patient, empathetic, and committed to promoting the well-being of individuals with disabilities.
- Valid certifications relevant to direct support roles may be required based on state regulations.
