What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Licensed Practical Nurse -$1,500 sign on bonus position at Treasure Coast Hospice?
Under the direction of the Director of Quality & Education, this position is responsible for the generation, tabulation, validation, completion, and distribution of data and reports to ensure quality reporting to meet NHPCO, government and agency standards. Responsible for the evaluation and reporting of chart audits and providing training as needed. Actively participates in the Quality Assessment & Assurance Committee and Quality Committee meetings.
Qualifications:
Current and active LPN license in the State of Florida.
Excellent ability to access, collect, interpret, validate, and track data utilizing exceptional organizational and communication skills. Knowledge of QAPI, NHPCO guidelines, Conditions of Participation (CMS), medical terminology, and state AHCA requirements and regulations. Four years’ minimum experience working in a related health care field; 3 years’ hospice experience preferred. Attendance is a condition of employment.
Key Result Areas
•Responsible for conducting chart audits as assigned by the VP of Quality and Education to ensure that the organization’s programs and services are implemented at the highest standards and patients receive the highest quality of care. Evaluation and reporting of chart audits and providing education in conjunction with Education Department, for building skills.
•Responsible for communicating with designated agency departments to accumulate reported quality data of agency statistics, logs, audits, incidents, infections, and other information. This is measured by the successful completion of accurate reports in accordance with state, federal and regulatory agency requirements.
•Participates in Quality Assurance & Assessment (QAA) and Quality Committee Meetings
•Monitor trends in complaints to identify new quality measures and educational opportunities.
•Participate as an active supporter of the Treasure Coast Hospice compliance program, including an emphasis to report, as well as complying with all Federal, State and Local laws as well as the organization’s compliance program.
•Fulfill all responsibilities related to the success of the strategic plan of the organization, as requested and assigned.

Position will be categorized as category III (involves no routine or potential exposure to blood, body fluids/tissues).
Working Conditions
•Typing or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.
•Sedentary – Exerting up to ten pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
•The work requires close visual acuity such as/preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing, viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.

Incumbent may be required to perform emergency duty before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency, crisis situation or disaster (man-made or natural) including evacuation sites. The person in the position will work in a smoke-free location and is expected to adhere to all smoking restrictions.
