Mill Operator

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mill Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining milling equipment to ensure the efficient and safe production of products. This role requires monitoring machinery, performing routine maintenance, and adhering to all safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a safe working environment. Past experience not required but helpful.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain heavy machinery
• Load various trucks including: pneumatic, belly dump, and belt trailers
• Monitor equipment performance, including feed rates, grinding efficiency, and product quality
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on milling equipment to minimize downtime
• Maintain accurate production records, including output, downtime, and maintenance activities
• Troubleshoot mechanical or operational issues and coordinate repairs as needed
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to company and MSHA safety protocols
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies

Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Technical training in mechanical operations or industrial machinery is a plus but not required
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting, climbing stairs, and standing for long periods
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Basic math skills for bin measurements and calculations
• Previous experience in milling, quarry operations, or heavy machinery operation preferred but not required
