REPORTS TO: Buffet Supervisor and Buffet Chef
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Preparation of food line stations prior to each meal period.
- Adhere to all safety, sanitation, and temperature standards.
- Ensure all foods are filled and presentable.
- Communicate, in a timely manner, with the kitchen staff regarding the amount of food on hand and its quality.
- Have knowledge of each item and its main ingredients.
- Return any food that is not consumed for proper storage or disposal.
- Keep a clean, organized, and sanitary work station at all times.
- Stir each item twice an hour to keep temperatures and presentation up to standards. Change out pans of all food items every hour.
- Wear gloves, hair restraints, pocket thermometer and nonslip footwear at all times.
- Be pleasant, accommodating, and hospitable to our guests. Smile while in front of guests and answer any questions they may have regarding the offerings.
- Clean work area thoroughly every shift. Including but not limited to heat lamps, counters, floor, heat wells, cabinets, hand sinks, sneeze guards, plate dispensers, and coolers.
- To perform any other duties requested by the Sous Chef, Supervisors, and Manager.
EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
High school graduate or GED equivalent. Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary languages of the work location. Knowledge of the sequence of service and buffet procedures, generally involving one year minimum, as a bus person. Must be customer orientated.
LICENSE / PERMIT REQUIREMENTS: n/a
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to stand and be upwardly mobile for periods of up to four hours in length. Must have good sense of balance, be able to bend and kneel and have the ability to lift bus pans and trays frequently weighing up to 25 pounds. The following activities are normally required to perform these functions: stand, walk, bend, reach, read, write, eye to hand coordination, depth perception, effective verbal communication, strong math skills, excellent organizational skills.
