What are the responsibilities and job description for the Farm Worker position at Treadway Fisheries Inc?
Workers will be required to seine fish ponds as needed, load and unload fish from pond bank into specialized fish hauling trucks; unload trucks into fish shed, grade fish into sizes, maintain fish shed by checking health of fish as needed especially while loading customers trucks. Workers will need to ensure tractors and other equipment are fueled and greased properly. Worker should be able to start and drive tractor for use in aeration as well as seining ponds. During spawning season, primarily April, May and June, workers will assist in preparing ponds for spawning, moving and washing hatchery mats and helping in the fish hatchery. General property maintenance will be expected such as bush hogging around levees and open fields, trimming trees with a chain saw, weed-eating, and some building maintenance such as painting and general repairs. Repairing seines and dipnets will be done as needed. Mechanical assistance to maintain tractors and farm vehicles as needed. Workers will be expected to keep equipment clean. Workers should be able to work independently after the job has been mastered. Tractor experience of 3 months is essential. A drivers license is highly desirable. This is a physically demanding job and workers must be able to lift 55 lb buckets of fish, pull seines thru mud and climb up and down pond banks under various temperatures and weather conditions. Worker should be comfortable working in and around water.
