What are the responsibilities and job description for the BIM Manager, Structural Engineering Group position at TRC Worldwide Engineering Inc?
TRC Worldwide Engineering, Inc. is seeking a BIM Manager to join our Structural Engineering Group in Brentwood, TN. Key responsibilities can include and are not limited to:
- Interpret construction documents in order to create detailed 3-D models which can be used to build and maintain a structure
- Develop detailed designs for various structures, specifying dimensions, materials, and procedures and draw-in minute details of structures and components
- Layout and draw schematic, or angle views to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems, and structures
- Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting component designs and the procedures and instructions to be followed
- Position instructions, notes and comments onto drawings
- Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies and resolve design problems
- Connect with internal and external customers to assess needs and provide deliverables that are accurate and precise
- Coordinate with other team members to ensure quality and schedule are maintained
- Create reports and downloads to assist other team members
- Additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- 2 or 4 year degree in Architectural Technology, CAD Drafting and Design or related education. Relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of education
- 8 years of previous experience in structural engineering design
- High proficiency operating in Revit/BIM/3D software required
- Ability to think critically to solve problems
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work with multiple functional groups to coordinate the flow of information
- Ability to prioritize and multitask to meet deadlines and customer expectations
- Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite and business software
