Manufacturing Technician
 
The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for the hands-on assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and inspection of electric propulsion systems and components used in advanced aircraft manufacturing. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, adherence to work instructions, and collaboration with engineering teams to support equipment commissioning, process validation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Type: 6-month contract with eligibility to renew

Position Summary
  • Assemble electric engine products and subassemblies using manual, semi-automated, and automated manufacturing equipment.

  • Build and integrate components including inverters, stators, gearboxes, motors, and related assemblies.

  • Follow detailed work instructions, technical specifications, and quality standards with a strong focus on workmanship.

  • Partner with engineering teams to support equipment bring-up, process validation, and production readiness activities.

  • Troubleshoot manufacturing equipment, processes, and product issues to identify and resolve defects.

  • Debug and test electric engine assemblies.

  • Build and maintain basic laboratory fixtures, tooling, and support equipment.

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment.

  • Conduct inspections and dimensional measurements using metrology equipment, including calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, measurement microscopes, and other inspection tools.

  • Accurately document build activities, deviations, and production data.

  • Comply with all workplace safety procedures and standards, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Arc Flash, and 5S practices.

Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience working in an R&D, prototype, or early-stage production setting.

  • Hands-on experience building mechanical and electronic assemblies using technical documentation.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.

  • Ability to follow formal work instructions and accurately document deviations.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Strong written communication and documentation skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and technical documentation.

  • Experience using inspection and measurement equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs).

  • Familiarity with 5S or similar workplace organization methodologies.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing safety protocols and compliance requirements.

Preferred Qualifications
  • IPC certification or working knowledge of IPC standards.

  • Experience assembling stator windings.

  • Experience using SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
