Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Lowboy Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will operate specialized lowboy trailers designed for transporting heavy, oversized, or tall equipment and materials. Your expertise in truck driving, route planning, and safety compliance will ensure timely deliveries and secure transport of freight across various locations. Duties
- Safely operate lowboy trailers, including flatbeds, tanker, refrigerated, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and tractor-trailers, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload heavy equipment or materials using appropriate tools such as forklifts or cranes when necessary
- Plan and execute efficient routes for delivery and pick-up, ensuring timely arrival at destinations
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns
- Secure freight properly to prevent shifting or damage during transit
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage logs, inspection reports, and load documentation
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members to coordinate schedules and resolve issues promptly
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Proven experience driving tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, refrigerated trailers, or dump trucks with manual transmission proficiency
- Knowledge of freight handling including load & unload procedures for various cargo types
- Familiarity with route driving, safety protocols, and DOT regulations
- Ability to operate forklifts or other loading equipment is a plus
- Strong attention to detail for vehicle inspections and documentation accuracy
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to safety and customer service
