Job Title: Culler
Department(s): Extrusion
Scheduled / Hours: Monday – Friday with occasional weekends from 3 pm to 11 pm
Reports to: The position reports to the department supervisor or lead person.
Job Summary: The responsibility of the culler is to monitor and cull meat on a daily basis according to the standard operating procedures (SOP) in his/her area as needed.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities
· Abide by OSHA standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), USDA guidelines and internal quality standards.
· Maintain a clean and sanitary work area according to SSOP’s.
· Monitor frozen meat patties for defects (cracked or crushed meat) on the cull table prior to the packaging machine.
· Separate defective patties and place in rework containers.
· Maintains consistent production flow by keeping patties oriented going into the stacker
· Be conscientious and alert to the effectiveness of the safe operations by self and other team members and make recommendations as needed.
· Perform other duties as directed.
Requirements / Qualifications:
Training on the cull table area is required for this position.
· Ability to work as a team with employees and other supervisors.
· Ability to pinch, grip and reach arms length to pick defective product.
· Organized and attention to detail

· Punctuality and good attendance
· Minimum education preferred is high school diploma or GED.
· Ability to lift up to 10 lbs. on a regular basis, occasionally 40 lbs.
Work Environment:
· Work is performed in a cold, refrigerated USDA regulated meat processing facility with temperatures ranging from 40F-50F.
· The work area can be noisy.
Physical Demands:
· The culler is required to stand, push, and pull for extended periods of time (up to 8-10 hours per shift).
· Frequent use of hands, arms, fingers on a continuous basis.
· Requires the person to be able to lift 10 lbs. on a regular basis and occasionally up to 40 lbs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $15.20 per hour
