Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Service Plumber role located in Newport, RI. The Service Plumber will diagnose and repair plumbing issues in residential and commercial properties, including fixtures, piping, water heaters, and related systems. Daily tasks include performing scheduled and emergency service calls, conducting inspections, recommending solutions, and completing accurate service documentation. The role may involve collaboration with HVAC, septic, and drain cleaning teams to provide integrated service solutions. The Service Plumber is expected to follow safety guidelines, maintain tools and company vehicles in good condition, and provide courteous, professional customer service.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in plumbing service work, including installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial plumbing systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot plumbing issues, interpret basic technical information, and recommend practical solutions to customers.
- Strong customer service skills, including clear communication, professionalism, and the ability to work respectfully in customers’ homes and businesses.
- Capacity to work independently on service calls, manage time effectively, and complete accurate work orders and documentation.
- Familiarity with safety practices related to plumbing, HVAC, and septic systems, and willingness to follow company safety protocols.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable record suitable for operating company vehicles.
- Relevant trade education, apprenticeship, or licensure as required by Rhode Island regulations; additional certifications in plumbing or HVAC are a plus.
- Comfort with occasional on-call or emergency work and the physical requirements of the role, such as lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces.
