Responsibilities
- Surgical Assistance: Assist the oral surgeon during various surgical procedures—including extractions, biopsies, and implant placements—by preparing necessary instruments and materials.
- Patient Flow Management: Manage patient flow by greeting patients, entering and updating medical histories, and explaining procedures clearly to ensure comfort and understanding.
- Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain dental equipment, such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and sterilization devices, in strict compliance with infection control standards.
- Room Preparation: Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up surgical tools, and ensuring all supplies are fully stocked for procedures.
- Radiography & Compliance: Take dental X-rays while following HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and ensure accurate medical documentation.
- Vitals Monitoring: Monitor patients' vital signs before, during, and after procedures to ensure their safety and stability throughout treatment.
- Anesthesia Support: Assist the surgeon during the administration of anesthesia and actively support patient recovery.
- Records Maintenance: Maintain detailed medical records using patient management software, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality at all times.
