Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) collaborates with residents, families, and interdisciplinary care teams to create a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment. This role involves providing both direct and indirect nursing care while promoting comfort, dignity, and quality of life for post-acute and long-term care residents.
Units & Patient Population
- Specialized Memory Care Unit: Provides care to residents with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, utilizing verbal and non-verbal communication techniques to address cognitive and behavioral needs in a home-like environment.
- Transitional Rehabilitation Unit: A short-term skilled nursing and rehabilitation setting supporting patients recovering from surgeries, fractures, strokes, and other acute conditions requiring rehab-focused care. Nursing responsibilities may include IV therapy, wound care, and geriatric assessment.
- Long-Term Care Unit: Supports residents requiring ongoing, long-term placement with comprehensive nursing care in a residential setting.
- Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in accordance with established standards and protocols
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary care teams
- Perform assessments, administer medications, and provide patient-centered care
- Float between units as needed based on staffing and patient care requirements
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using an electronic medical record system
Job Requirements
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Active State of Maine RN license or compact RN license
- Candidates with licensure hits will not be considered
- 1–3 years of RN experience preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience required
- BLS/BCLS required
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Willingness to float to other units as needed
- Previous employees are not eligible for consideration
- Up to 16 hours of orientation may be unpaid
- Holiday coverage required
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius
- EMR system used: EPIC
