Job Summary:
We're seeking a detail-oriented, customer-focused Part-Time Operations Manager to support our day-to-day operations. In this key role, you'll handle office-based tasks like scheduling shifts, hiring and onboarding route runners, and managing customer communications. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organizational skills who enjoys helping a small business grow. Ideal for flexible work-life balance in a supportive environment. Majority of work can be performed from home with occasional site visits required. We expect 1-3 hours of work per day with the opportunity to grow with the company and expand roles and responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage employee shifts and schedules to ensure efficient route coverage and on-time service.
Recruit, interview, and hire route runners.
Respond promptly to new customer inquiries via text, email, or phone, providing quotes, explaining services and pricing (e.g., monthly vs annual plan), and converting leads into sign-ups.
Address existing customer requests, such as pauses, cancellations, add-ons, or feedback, ensuring high satisfaction and retention.
Monitor daily operations, including tracking holidays/collection days and coordinating with the founder on expansions to new neighborhoods.
Use CRM software to log interactions, and maintain customer records for seamless service.
Assist with basic administrative tasks, like payroll coordination via Gusto and expense tracking.
Qualifications:
1-3 years of experience in operations, customer service, or administrative roles (e.g., in home services, retail, or logistics preferred but not required).
Strong organizational and communication skills; comfortable with responding to inquiries promptly.
Familiarity with tools like Google Workspace, CRM software, or payroll apps (training provided).
Ability to work independently in a part-time capacity; reliable and detail-oriented.
High school diploma or equivalent; bilingual (English Spanish/Chinese) a plus for our diverse customers.
Passion for helping others—experience with seniors or busy families is ideal.
Must pass a background check and have reliable transportation if occasional in-person tasks arise.
