Bartender
A Bartender is a high-energy, guest-facing professional responsible for crafting beverages, maintaining the bar, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests. Beyond mixing drinks, a great bartender is part entertainer, part salesperson, and part hospitality expert — often becoming the face of the establishment.
Key Responsibilities
Greet guests at the bar promptly and create a warm, engaging atmosphere from the moment they sit down. Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages accurately and efficiently including cocktails, wine, beer, and spirits. Maintain thorough knowledge of the full drink menu including classic cocktails, specialty drinks, and current seasonal offerings. Make recommendations based on guest preferences and upsell premium spirits and add-ons naturally. Monitor guest consumption and adhere strictly to responsible alcohol service guidelines. Check identification to verify legal drinking age without exception. Manage bar inventory, track usage, and communicate restocking needs to management. Keep the bar clean, organized, and visually appealing throughout the entire shift. Open and close bar tabs accurately and process payments through the POS system. Prepare garnishes, batched cocktails, syrups, and infusions during prep time before service. Collaborate with barbacks, servers, and kitchen staff to maintain seamless service. Handle guest complaints or difficult situations professionally and with composure. Assist with bar inventory counts, ordering, and receiving deliveries as directed.
Requirements
- Minimum 1–2 years of bartending or bar service experience preferred, not required
- Must be of legal age to serve alcohol (21 )
- Strong knowledge of spirits, cocktails, wine, and beer
- Excellent memory, multitasking, and time management skills
- Outgoing, personable, and professional demeanor
- Ability to remain calm and composed during high-volume rushes
- Ability to stand for full shifts (6-10hr) and lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to understand numbers, and basic math skills
- Availability for evenings, late nights, weekends, and holidays
Nice to Have
- Craft cocktail or mixology experience
- Ability to follow house recipes
- Experience with high-volume environments
- Familiarity with POS systems (Toast, Micros, Aloha, Square)
Work Environment
Fast-paced bar environment with occasionally loud music, low lighting, and constant guest interaction. Bartenders are on their feet for the entirety of their shift, typically ranging from 6–10 hours, often extending late into the night. Weekend and evening availability is essential. The role can be physically demanding but highly rewarding for those who thrive in a social, energetic setting.
Compensation
- Base Hourly Wage: $11 starting with no experience
- $12 starting with experience
- Tips at the end of each shift
Pay: $11.00 - $12.00 per hour
