Project Manager – Battery Pack Build (China Vendor Operations)

An experienced Project Manager is needed to oversee the execution of a battery pack build at a China-based vendor facility. This role requires strong cross-functional coordination, on-site leadership, and executive-level communication to ensure production readiness, quality, and on-time delivery.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the on-site representative at the vendor facility.
- Lead planning with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations.
- Maintain integrated project timelines and ensure tooling, material, and logistics readiness.
- Oversee daily production and ensure adherence to quality standards and build specifications.
- Coordinate inbound/outbound material flow and inventory systems.
- Identify and mitigate risks; deliver clear updates to senior leadership.
- Support validation, quality verification, and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related technical field (PMP preferred).
- 10 years of project management experience in automotive manufacturing.
- 10 years working with China-based manufacturing operations and vendor management.
- Strong presentation and communication skills; able to brief VP-level executives.
- Business-fluent Mandarin Chinese.
- Willingness to travel and remain on-site in China for the duration of the build.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and supply chain logistics.
