Job Summary and Qualifications
Supports the department by scheduling appointments accurately and efficiently. Registers patients by keying demographic, billing, physician, procedure, diagnosis and compliance information into the Hospital Information System. Provides customer service and manages paperwork flow for the registration process. Responsible for pre-registering scheduled patients and entering all demographic and insurance information in the hospital system ensuring accurate and timely pre-registration for healthcare services. Contacts referring physician and appropriate clinical staff of unauthorized services
What qualifications you will need:
- Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferred Education: Associates Degree
- Required Experience: One year comparable clerical/consumer service experience. Computer, keyboarding and typing skills required.
- Preferred Experience: Minimum two years experience: insurance billing or follow-up in a hospital or physician’s office, or experience in insurance claims processing center
