What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Varsity Soccer Coach (Mens) position at Transylvania County Schools?
Brevard High School is seeking a dedicated and experienced Men's Varsity Soccer Coach to lead our soccer program to success. The ideal candidate will have a passion for soccer, a commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the field, and the ability to foster a positive team culture. The position is available for the 2024-2025 school year.
**Responsibilities:**
- Develop and implement a comprehensive soccer program for the men's varsity & jv teams.
- Provide skill development, strategic coaching, and mentorship to student-athletes.
- Plan and execute effective practices that focus on player development and team cohesion.
- Coordinate and communicate with assistant coaches, athletic staff, and school administration.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect.
- Monitor and support student-athletes' academic progress and character development.
- Ensure compliance with all school, conference, and state athletic association rules and regulations.
**Qualifications:**
- Previous coaching experience at the high school level or above, preferably in varsity soccer.
- Strong knowledge of soccer fundamentals, strategy, and coaching techniques.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to reach their full potential.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.
- Understanding of and adherence to all relevant athletic association rules and regulations.
- Valid coaching certification and/or willingness to obtain required certifications.
