Head Varsity Basketball Coach (Womens)

Brevard High School is seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to serve as the Head Women's Varsity Basketball Coach for the Blue Devils.  The position is available for the 2026-27 school year.  The ideal candidate will be passionate about developing an offseason skill development program, forging connections on campus, engaging with students to increase recruitment, and running a disciplined and competitive basketball program. Additionally, the Head Coach will oversee the JV program, connect with feeder programs, recruit assistant coaches, ensure coach and player compliance, lead fundraising efforts, promote the program, and engage in community outreach initiatives.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement a comprehensive offseason skill development program focused on enhancing players' abilities during the offseason.
2. Forge connections on campus with students, faculty, and staff to increase recruitment and support for the basketball program.
3. Engage with students through various mediums such as assemblies, events, and community outreach initiatives to promote the basketball program and encourage participation.
4. Run a disciplined and competitive basketball program that emphasizes teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
5. Oversee the JV basketball program, including scheduling games, practices, and player development.
6. Connect with feeder programs to identify and cultivate talent for future varsity teams.
7. Recruit, hire, and mentor assistant coaches to support the varsity and JV programs effectively.
8. Ensure compliance with all school, district, and state regulations for coaches and players.
9. Lead fundraising efforts to support program needs, including equipment, travel, and facility improvements.
10. Promote the basketball program through marketing initiatives, social media, and community events.
11. Engage in community outreach activities to build support and partnerships for the basketball program.
12. Perform other duties as assigned by the athletic director or school administration.

Qualifications:

• Previous coaching experience at the high school level or above.
• Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and techniques.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate student-athletes to reach their full potential.
• Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and the community.
• Knowledge of and adherence to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations governing high school athletics.
