NOTICE OF INTENT TO EMPLOY
POSITION: Transportation Dispatcher
6:00AM - 10:00AM then 1:00PM - 5:00PM
LOCATION: Transportation
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Hold a Class B CDL with school bus, passenger, and air brake endorsements
- Meets all requirements for school bus driver certification
- Experience in school transportation
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff and administrators.
- Ability to deal with staff, students, parents and the public in a courteous and tactful manner.
- Ability to function in a positive manner in stressful situations with severe time constraints.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills.
- High level of computer competency & knowledge and understanding of office equipment.
- Must be willing to work with a flexible work schedule, and work independently.
- Ability to learn new tasks and skills.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Answer phones in the transportation department. Monitor and respond to all bus radio calls.
- Drives bus when needed
- Provide timely and appropriate response to parental inquiries.
- Assist in communicating with parents, staff, and school personnel in school related matters.
- Schedule Athletic and Academic field trips.
- Schedule drivers, bus aides and substitute drivers to routes.
- Assist with billing correlation.
- Assists in maintaining the computerized routing system used on a daily basis.
- Familiarity with streets and addresses.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of keys and other items.
- Assist transportation staff with bus routes, directions to field trip locations.
- Assist with day to day operations.
- Promote and assist with safety practices for all transportation employees and students.
- Will perform all other appropriate duties and responsibilities as assigned.
