General Definition of Work
The transportation maintenance services supervisor, under intermittent supervision, performs supervisory work with limited decision-making discretion managing the vehicular maintenance program at assigned transportation staging site. Position supervises all servicing, scheduled maintenance, fueling, inspections, and minor repairs. Employee performs district-level work to carry out Board of Education policies under the direction of the Assistant Director of Fleet Services.

Place of Work
The normal place of work is on the premises used by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Charlotte- Mecklenburg Schools reserves the right to require you to work at such other place(s) as it may reasonably require from time to time.
Essential Functions
- Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures
- Lead, manage, supervise, and evaluate assigned staff/programs
- Monitor and inspect work to ensure that it is completed on time and correctly
- Recommend and implement changes when necessary to support improvement
- Schedule the preventative maintenance program for all assigned vehicles using the State computer program
- Coordinate and schedule major repairs with appropriate personnel
- Collaborate on the development of site hours and individual schedules necessary to meet the needs of the transportation department and programs served
- Utilize special analysis and testing equipment, trouble shoots; support and develop staff members
- Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs when necessary to clear backlog
- Maintain all documentation required at the site to include records of all inspections, repairs and/or maintenance work performed and parts/supplies used
- Establish and maintain an on-site library which contains all manuals and publications needed and/or required to include: The State Preventive Maintenance Manual, CMS Procedures Manual, OSHA, EPA and ADA publications and regulations; Material Safety Data Sheets, and the Hazardous Materials Program.
- Coordinate to maintain a stocked inventory and request orders for any special needed parts and/or supplies
- Monitor NC safety emission standards and vehicle compliance and prepare reports necessary for the NC Department of Public Instruction
- Complete local, state, or federal surveys and reports accurately and promptly
- Create an inclusive environment with positive communication/public relations
