POSITION SUMMARY
This position transports students by school bus in a safe and professional manner.
JOB SCOPE
This position functions under the direction of the transportation supervisor and operates within established systems and rules. The work is somewhat recurring and routine although the position may encounter variations from the norm due to changing road conditions and routes. This position has little to no planning responsibility beyond the need to schedule own work and determine impediments to own work schedule.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE (Minimum Qualifications)
- Any combination of education, training, and experience which demonstates ability to perform the duties and responsibilites as described within this job description
- Be at least 18 years of age;
- Hold a valid Oregon Commercial Drivers License (CDL) - or have ability to obtain; and
- No experience required. Skills and abilities are learned on the job.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working as a school bus driver in a K-12 environment.
- Experience working in a CDL driver position in a non-school industry.
- Holds a valid Oregon commercial driver’s license (CDL) with passenger, air brake and “S” endorsement, school bus driver certificates/licenses and the ability to obtain a valid First Aid/CPR card.
- Bilingual Spanish
